This is the proposed logo for the FT. The original design comes from Mr Koi Lik Wai, former Michaelian.
Brief description and rationale of elements in design
- the main element visible is the star, formed by the pieces of irregular shape and sizes; this represents all the members of the formation team, striving and continuing the work of La Salle, represented by the star image that forms amidst the pieces.
- the pieces appear to be moving towards the star image, suggesting that our lives are focused towards our Lasallian spirituality.
Since this is going to be our logo, we are open to comments and ideas for modification. Hurry up, have your say!

Some suggestions that MAY make it look better:
- put colour
- add outline to the shards
I agree with Tsu Chong. If we were to add colours, it shows the diversity of our Lasallian Family. Shows the Lasallian mission reaching out to people irrespective of race, religion and background.
oh..
i thought its good on it's own already..
simplicity.. :)
Colour wud be awesome, but try not to cocktail it.
jus a reminder, don add 3 colours and say the main 3 race in M'sia,we have our east coast frens as well.
The wordings at the bottom, could make it a little symmetrical?the bottom line is a lil bit longer, but hey,up to u guys.
Other than that the design is superb.
But i would fret the day someone asks me to draw it.haha.good job guys.
Well, I think its good enough already.
Adding colours would be cooler la.But without adding colours also I think it would look nice enough. Because I think one colour resembles ONE TEAM.
Other than that, not much.
hmmm...the design is nt bad already but...but the colour is kinda dull...should add some colour...spice things up...
The design is good. But adding colors would make it look nicer. A suggestion: maybe we could try adding the colour green OR yellow?
how about green instead of grey for the shards?
yeah....adding colour would be nice and also i support wif what jagadev ramal said.....
i would suggest sticking to 4 or 5 colours je.....
somehow the shards giving me the feeling that its moving out of the star, symbolising that we are reaching out to people.....
Clarification (what a colourful mess have i started)
- put ONE colour
I love it!
TsuChong...look what u did!! :P
I love the design but tot it will be better if color can be added. One or two will do...
Overall, it looks great. Good job. The shrads can be coloured yellow and the outline is green. Everyone seems to be engrossed with the colours.
The green outline of the shrads can bring out the yellowness of the object.
A big hello from a small island!
Hehe... Well, i honestly think the design is simple yet interesting. Adding a colour or two would definitely brighten up the logo. Not that it needs to be bright or anything, just a star should shine. :)I'm not sure where to throw in the colours, but yellow and lime-green perhaps? Just a suggestion. Jia-you! :)
Looks nice, and I agree with putting in yellow for the star and green for the shards.
Look forward to seeing the completed logo!
OMG NOooooo! It'll look like some F&N drink!!! No offense to all who suggested yellow and green.
Sorry la, I love the colours, but not together on a logo.
I thought grey was nice, then I looked at FT 2 poster. Look how pretty the logo looks - WHITE! =P
I don't really agree with colouring the star in the middle because there is actually no star...there's no outline of a star, just the edges of the shards.
Since the logo is "symbolic", then i presume the colours shuld also mean something instead of random additions for aesthethic value? not sure wat "yellow" is in the lasallian context, but Green is the colour of the Irish Brothers who made up the majority of the pioneer batch of Brothers in this region.. and Blue is the colour of the original French heritage. Also, i saw some1 mentioning it is moving "out" instead of the intended "in". I think is fine both ways, and can be interpreted either way.
OK and that last high powered comment by Vinesh closes our feedback window.
We'll work on it and you'll see the finished design soon.
Thank you all for your contributions.
