The first LEAD will happen this coming weekend in Ulu Kenas for St George's, Taiping. For most of the boys, this LEAD camp will be the only camp that they'll have a chance to attend.
Do sign up and be part of the team that will enable them to enjoy this rare opportunity!
Now, for a long-overdue blast from the past...
Here are some stories on the small but worthwhile efforts in PJ, Seremban and Malacca for 'More Than Earth Hour':
As always, when two or three lasallians gather together, we garner some good and bad attentions. It was no different when the six of us went round Taman Jaya Park collecting litter.
Most were puzzled at what we were doing and one even approached us to clarify on that. He was rather surprised to know that we were doing it voluntarily (as shown by the happy faces in the picture below).
We were, however, focus on our task and searched diligently for rubbish lying around the park. The park was surprisingly clean on that day (only to find out later from Pui Yi that we missed out on the “rubbishy” part of the park) but we still managed to collect four bags full of rubbish and recyclable items.
All in all, it was a good hour spent catching up and laughing with one another, enjoying the scenic view of the park and doing something together for the community and the environment.
Nevertheless, I believe that an event as such can be more than a “(More Than) Earth Hour” program. Surely we can do better than the once-a-year-ritual-rubbish-collection-programme. Come on, Lasallians!

Earth hour, a collaborative effort to raise awareness towards the need to take action on the climate change, was held on 28/04/10 worldwide. As Lasallians, we are called to do more. Hence, another collaborative effort, this time on a much smaller scale, was held in conjuction with Earth Hour.
LaSallians from Seremban gladly participated in ‘More than Earth Hour ‘ which was carried out a week after Earth Hour itself. Many couldn't attend as sadly the F1 race overshadowed ‘More than Earth Hour ‘.
We noticed the park was rather clean already upon our arrival. Encouraging signs on Malaysia cleanliness perhaps?
We made a two full rounds around the park. The first was to pick up all the rubbish and the second, well, just in case. Cigarette buds and plastic cups were abundant. We managed to fill up one and a half rubbish bags.
All in all, a good day’s work in helping mother nature. As they say, ‘ave Mother Nature For our Future.’
Many thanks to those who attended, and to those who couldn’t make it, Mother Nature still loves her children.

And kudos to the two who showed up in Malacca on a rainy Saturday morning!
