Guys

Good to know that there is a strong bond between the La Salle brothers and sisters..

But honestly, are you guys really practising what dear La Salla preached or just keep coming for these camps for popularity sake?

Please ask yourself. Be truthful. Last thing La Salle wanted was hypocrites. Please serve rightfully, do not make this a popularity contest.

If we are doing this for population we will go around telling everyone that we are having this camp..........for god's sake what were you thinking? This camp is for pure lasallian only and only limited for students in the la salle school........you have been thinking too much

The camps are continuosly held to keep introducing young Lasallians to the Founder and his ideals and hopefully this is translated into living action by the Lasallians who are touched in these camps.

But would love to understand why these camps are now considered to be "popularity contests?"

Would be great if "Annonymous" can help us understand why and maybe some thinking now needs to be done on the way the camps have been promoted and conducted?

And it would be good if we can use names here, will keep it healthy for transparency.

Thank you.

Not to be rude but if ones got a strong opinion and feels right that the opinion is as truth can ever be, why be anonymous about it?

Heed what Vinesh had said, help the movement see the flaws. Nothing is ever perfectly right, but can strive to do so.

Hmm as far as I know, there are no popularity in the camps that we organised but if it is being potrayed in your school/area please tell us. We really do not want it to be. OUr camps is suppose to be eye opening to LaSalle's life and also mission.

Let's be affirmative to one another

I still prefer to be anonymous..

Im sorry if I hurt you guys.. That was not my intention.. I am a La Sallian too..

To be honest, sometimes, when I walk pass the participants of this camp.. They look snobbish and as if, they are on their own world.. I mean, some of them are really great.. Really down to earth and stuff.. especially the guys but the girls are rather showing off..
They look at me as if I am a low class and something.. However, they are still a number of guys trying to look cool and stuff.. HELLO! We are La Sallians remember.. Where's the brotherhood and sisterhood at?

Im sorry if this hurts u but this is a fact.. Please prove me wrong.. I think you guys are excellent because when I first laid this matter out.. You guys did not jump at me, rather took a step back and acknowledged the current situation.. Thanks for being like that.. That is what makes organization like this successful and mature over time..

Thanks once again.. And take care you guys..

Forever La Sallians..

Dear Anonymous #1

Yea, I think I know what you mean about it being a "popularity contest"

I must admit I was always intimidated to enter the Lasallian conventions as an FT member and a such, because well, most of the people that are in it are "popular", and I was somewhat out of the popular circle.

Took the plunge this time around, and joined the NRLC as a FT member for the very first time. Well, let's just say that I was pleasantly surprised that they were very down to earth, once you get to know them :)

Hey Anonymous #1

I'm glad that you have shared about your insights on the LaSallians you have encountered. However, just to affirm you, I don't think we teach our youth to look down on people. The whole idea of the programme was to be inclusive. For example Harvey. Harvey did not participate in any of our camps but when he heard about FT...he jumped right in and is now helping us to organise things. Maybe Anonymous #1 should join us in the FT. It's open for anybody who is interedted (including non-LaSallians - we have a few). My invitation to you because from your comments, you seemed to be a person who is well informed about the LaSallian spirit. So why not join us? We're glad to have you on board..

Take care
